BASIC Programming on Twitch — competition and audience

Atari· 1979· Atari2600

SimulatorEducational

Basic Programming attempted to teach simple computer programming on the Atari 2600. It was released in 1979, and it was one of only a few non-gaming cartridges ever designed for the 2600. The programming language was superficially similar to dialects of BASIC, but differed in many important aspects. The extremely small RAM size of the Atari 2600, 128 bytes, severely restricted the possibilities of this cartridge for writing programs.

Should I stream BASIC Programming on Twitch?

0/100 · Closed off· 2 viewers per streamer on paper

Probably not. The only English stream here holds all 2 English viewers — once you take it out there is nothing left to reach.

The only English stream here holds all 2 English viewers. There is nothing left over for a second.

Almost nobody here is available to you — either a couple of streams hold the room, or nobody is watching in English, or the category is empty, or you would be buried.

This reads the room as it is right now — how much of the English-speaking audience is reachable and where you would land — not how many followers you would gain. That depends on you.

How many people stream BASIC Programming?

Right now

1 right now, to 2 viewers between them. Counted live from Twitch and refreshed every 15 minutes.

Is BASIC Programming too saturated on Twitch?

Not crowded, but not open either. Only 1 person is streaming BASIC Programming, and the one English stream holds all 2 English viewers — so the room is quiet because that audience is already committed, not because it is waiting for you.
