Save the categories you want to come back to. That’s all an account does for now — there is no feed, no profile page and nothing public.

Signing in makes your streaming visible to other streamers.

Once you’re in, the pages for categories you stream can show your Twitch name, hours streamed, average viewers and follows gained — the same comparison you get to see about everybody else. It’s all public Twitch data, and it’s how the site is useful. Nothing about you appears publicly until you actually go live.

Those same measurements also teach the site whether its advice is any good. We compare what a category scored against what streamers actually got out of it, and use that to make the scores better — counted across everybody, never as a profile of you. If it turns out a score was wrong, we change the score.

One switch on your account page turns off both, any time.

We ask Twitch for your name, email and avatar, and nothing else. We don’t post and don’t read your chat. Twitch issues an access token as part of signing in, which is stored encrypted and never used — once you’re signed in there is no reason to act as you.
