What is Quake 4 about?

During the bloody war between humans and the nightmarish race of the Strogg, a lone marine infiltrated the planet and assassinated their horrific leader. The humans discover that the Strogg are not so easily defeated, however, and that their only hope may rest on a marine that is no longer entirely human. In a desperate war for Earth's survival, against an unrelenting enemy, the only way to defeat them is to become one of them. Armed with advanced weaponry and vehicles and aided by an elite squad of marines, you take the battle to the heart of the Strogg home planet and become earth’s only hope for victory.

“This game is basically Quake II-2 but it's a narrative driven game with a lot of waiting around for NPCs to do stuff. The first 2 hours are boring as sin but the game gets slightly better when you're able to move quicker and get access to the rest of the guns.…”

“We had it good back in 2000s: Doom 3, Half-Life 2, Quake 4, FEAR, Call of Juarez, Prey, Battlefield 2, Serious Sam 2 and others. The game still got it after 20 years. It's short (less than 10 hours, i think), it switches pace, doesn't give you fatigue of doing…”
