The game centres around the Marvel Comics superhero, the Hulk, and features an open world with destructible environments. The storyline depicts the Hulk being unconsciously guided by his human alter-ego, Bruce Banner, and his psychotherapist, Leonard Samson. They influence him to construct a device aimed at healing Banner's psyche and preventing the emergence of a darker personality.
